Field Day
Phillip, Sheridan, Zack and Max came out to the lake today. We fed ducks, flew kites, shot bean flippers, played with magnets, shot marbles, ate lunch and who knows what all else. Lisa is nursing a cold, so she did not venture out to these shores. I was taking pictures in all directions. Some were good; some not so good. It turns out I didn't find any good pictures with Sheridan in them. I didn't select good pictures in all of the cases. Suffice it to say that we had an excellent time, and enjoyed all of the things we did

Carol Russell - an unrhyming ode.
Carol Russell has been here for a visit since Friday evening. She is such a good granddaughter. She is so kind and good to her grandpa. In two of these pics she and Clarine have modeled some sheriff deputy shirts that Clarine is modifying for the husband of the Relief Society President. In the other pic I actually got Carol to pose in front of a white door in hopes of displaying her fine features. She actually has accomplished much already in her relatively short life - graduated from BYU, served a mission in Brazil Curitiba Mission, and currently she is teaching science at a charter school in Logan to three middle school grades. Carol was our guest through the Saturday and Sunday sessions of General Conference. When prayers were said we all prayed; when the congregation sang, we sang; we said all of the "Amens." Carol took copius notes. Her family lives in Woodinville, Washington. She has two brother sibs and
three sisters. Her oldest brother, Sam is marrying Merina from St. Petersberg, Russia on 16 April 2009 in the Seattle Temple. I can't remember how to spell or say Merina's last name. Carol is a candidate to be translated, but she associates with us mortals, so it likely will not happen as of yet. I think we will possibly be honored with Carol's presence for another two or three days as her school is on spring break this week. She helps clean up after meals, makes no demands or requests and is really fun to visit with. Clarine and I are so at ease around her. gwh
